About
I am a native English freelance editorial professional based in Italy and I provide editing, proofreading and translation services in English and Italian.
English is the language in which I grew up and was educated, and it has also been my predominant working language for almost three decades. However, since I moved to Rome after university in 1998, Italian has become my elective language when speaking and writing.
Consequently, I straddle two languages and two cultures, and this, together with my extensive editorial experience, puts me in a privileged position to support publishers and authors looking to move beyond their primary market and language of origin.
My real passion has always been reading and the written word: one of my fondest childhood memories is of Saturday morning trips to the local library with my father and sister to choose our books for the week.
So, in 2024 I decided to make my passion my job, leveraging my bilingual profile to offer my services as an editor and translator to both the Italian and English-speaking publishing market.
When I am not editing, reviewing or translating text, I can be found with my nose buried in book, my hands in the earth gardening or my feet treading the mountains of Abruzzo, particularly the Gran Sasso massif, my happy place.
I live just outside Rome with my two children and our cats. I am also a voluntary guardian to unaccompanied foreign minors in Italy.
